Enhanced rock weathering (ERW) is a nature-based carbon dioxide removal (CDR) technology that can help mitigate climate change by permanently capturing and storing CO₂ from the atmosphere.

Precision Development (PxD) and the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development (IGSD) are partnering on a unique initiative to collaboratively identify opportunities for innovation in climate change mitigation.

Since October 2019, PxD, in a consortium led by Digital Green, has been implementing a Digital Agricultural Advisory Services (DAAS) project with the objective of strengthening existing digital advisory services and the development of a tech platform (FarmStack) to enable actors to more easily share and utilize data.

The LMAFRP, delivered in partnership with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), delivers digital advisory on livestock husbandry to 51,000 women farmers in four districts of Punjab Province, Pakistan.

Ensuring access to water is a critical challenge for Kenyan farmers. Water tanks present a promising solution. However, access to credit to purchase tanks is challenging. Together with our partners, we are assessing the impact of asset-collateralized loans to finance water tanks among dairy farmers.

Gujarat is PxD’s first site of operation in India and Krishi Tarang is our oldest continuously delivered service. Because PxD fully owns and operates Krishi Tarang, the service acts as a “sandbox” for testing new ideas.

Following a competitive process, in December 2020, PxD in consortium with RARE and The Nature Conservancy received a one-year grant from UK PACT to support a project focused on sustainable agriculture and behavioral change.

Since 2018, Precision Development (PxD) has partnered with the Coffee Board of India (CBI), a statutory body, to deliver the Coffee Krishi Taranga (CKT) digital advisory service to coffee growers. 

The Ama Krushi service, built by PxD and delivered by the Government of Odisha, is the largest and most comprehensive service developed by PxD. Ama Krushi currently serves over three million farmers with customized information on 29 value chains spanning crops, fisheries, four types of livestock, poultry, and kitchen gardens.

In 2020 and 2021, PxD collaborated with HarvestPlus on a pilot to deliver advisory information promoting the benefits of zinc-biofortified wheat to Pakistani farmers. This was PxD’s first initiative with a focus on nutrition, and our first collaboration with HarvestPlus. 

PxD partners with One Acre Fund (OAF) in Rwanda to deliver push SMS's to volunteer community extension agents (called 'farmer promoters') to motivate and improve their performance and, by extension, farmer outcomes.

The service provides digital information via SMS and Push Calls to deliver low-cost, customized advice to over one million farmers in Punjab, Pakistan to improve on-farm best agricultural practices, input utilization, pest and disease management, access to markets, and resilience.

The DEDAAS initiative is designed to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on Nigerian smallholder farmers and to insulate domestic food supply by supporting access to affordable inputs and advisory services to sustain production.

ElimuLeo (Swahili for "Education Today") harnesses the distributive power of mobile technology to provide children with access to adaptive mathematics problem sets. Launched in Kenya on December 8, 2020, ElimuLeo is Precision Development’s first initiative that is not linked to agriculture.

MoA-INFO, delivered in partnership with the Government of Kenya, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and CABI, is PxD's flagship advisory service in Kenya. The free service is available in English and Swahili across all 47 counties of Kenya.

Since 2016, PxD has collaborated with One Acre Fund in Kenya to advance research to improve the adoption and use of inputs to improve yields and to promote other OAF services in Kenya. To date, our respective teams have collaborated on sixteen regional trials: thirteen in Kenya and three in Rwanda.
