Asad Liaqat is a Data Scientist at Meta Superintelligence Labs, where he develops safety evaluations to determine whether large-scale AI systems are ready for deployment, and advises leadership on the risks and mitigations needed to address them. Before focusing on AI safety, he was a Research Scientist studying the economics of digital platforms, leading work on digital welfare, health misinformation, financial inclusion, and ad market competition.

Asad holds a PhD in Public Policy (Economics) from Harvard University and a BA in Political Economy and Philosophy from Williams College. His research has appeared in the American Economic Review: Insights and American Political Science Review, and has been covered by media outlets such as the Washington Post and Dawn Pakistan.

Asad also co-founded Beaj Education, a social enterprise using technology to expand access to quality education for underserved youth, where he now serves as an Advisor. He joins PxD’s Advisory Board bringing expertise at the intersection of AI, economics, and social impact, and a commitment to ensuring that frontier technology serves those who need it most.
